With tnea cut off of 140 ,mbc, what colleges that can be secured strictly around chennai for courses like cse,ai,eee, ece

Ans: Candidates in the MBC category with a scaled TNEA score of around 140 can secure seats in several private and autonomous colleges in the Chennai region for CSE, AI & DS, EEE and ECE branches. Tagore Engineering College (Vandalur) offers CSE and AI & DS at closing ranks near 104 392 – 174 763 under MBC. Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College (Thorapakkam) admits MBC candidates in CSE (closing rank: 104 197) and ECE (171 452) with AI & DS also available. St. Joseph’s College of Engineering (OMR) fills ECE at average cutoffs around 158.5 and EEE/ECE consistently for 140+ MBC marks. Panimalar Engineering College (Nazarethpet) and Meenakshi Sundararajan Engineering College (Kodambakkam) admit EEE/ECE at average 157–158 marks. Prince Dr. K. Vasudevan College (Medavakkam) similarly offers EEE/ECE at ~155 marks and CSE at ~152 marks.

Recommendation: List Tagore Engineering (Vandalur) and MNM Jain (Thorapakkam) first for CSE and AI & DS, include St. Joseph’s (OMR) and Panimalar (Nazarethpet) for ECE/EEE, and keep Prince Dr. K. Vasudevan (Medavakkam) as a backup. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!

can get colleges like ssn snu rajalakshi(rec, rit) with tnea cut off 140 mbc-dnc
Ans: With a TNEA cutoff of 140 in the MBC-DNC category, admission to top colleges like SSN, SNU, and Rajalakshmi (REC/RIT) for CSE, IT, or ECE is not possible, as their expected cutoffs for MBC-DNC are much higher—typically 190–195 for CSE and 180–185 for IT and ECE branches. Even for Mechanical and other core branches, the cutoff for MBC-DNC in these colleges is around 175–180, well above your mark. Colleges in the next tier, such as Karpaga Vinayaga, Panimalar, or regional government colleges, may be accessible for non-CSE branches at this score. For CSE, IT, or ECE, you would need at least 180–190 marks in MBC-DNC for these reputed institutions.

Recommendation: With a 140 cutoff in MBC-DNC, focus on regional or self-financed engineering colleges and consider core branches other than CSE/IT/ECE, as admission to SSN, SNU, or Rajalakshmi is not feasible at this score.
