Hello sir my nephew have same problem he filled form jee main in general category, he have ews certificate of 2025 but not 2024, he is eligible for ews 2025

Ans: To claim EWS reservation in JEE Main 2025, the certificate must be valid during counselling (typically held in 2025). Since your nephew’s EWS certificate is issued in 2025, it will be accepted if it covers the financial year 2024–25 and is issued by a competent authority (e.g., Tehsildar). However, JEE Main applications require candidates to declare their category during registration. If he applied under General, he cannot switch to EWS later unless he updates his category during counselling with the valid 2025 certificate. Ensure the certificate specifies income/assets below ?8 lakh/year and is not expired at the time of document verification. If the certificate meets these criteria, he can claim EWS benefits during counselling. All the BEST for your Nephew's Admission & a Prosperous Future!
