Sir my daughter got 78percentile in jee mains. In board exam she got 92%.in eamset she got 60,000 rank .she is interested mec engineering and planning for drop year wat should we do. She want to enter in good college

Ans: Hello dear
Given the current scores, securing a seat for mechanical engineering in a reputable college would be difficult. Consider abandoning the notion of taking a gap year. It would be advisable to investigate additional opportunities in private colleges, where you may be able to obtain a seat even with a lower score through management quota.
Best of luck.

Hi Sir, My son got 22K rank. General category.Home state Karnataka. He is interested in ECE. He has chances of getting ECE in NIT Agartala, Puducherry,Goa and some IIIT's chances to get in Silchar and Patna in 5 th round. He got good rank in KCET and he has a sure shot in RVCE. What to prefer in the mentioned colleges
Ans: Choosing between RVCE Bangalore (ECE) and NITs/IIITs depends on balancing academic rigor, industry exposure, and regional preferences. RVCE’s ECE offers 80-85% placement rates with Microsoft, Amazon, and Cisco among top recruiters, leveraging its Bangalore location for internships and startup ecosystem access, despite higher fees (~?1.28 lakh/year). NIT Agartala (ECE) boasts 82.3% placements (2023) with an average package comparable to RVCE, but its remote location limits corporate engagement beyond core sectors. NIT Goa’s ECE achieved 100% placements (2022-23) with strong semiconductor/R&D recruitment, while NIT Puducherry’s ECE lags at 48% placements (2024). IIITs like IIIT Sri City or IIITDM Jabalpur offer specialized ECE curricula with ~75-85% placements but lack RVCE’s metropolitan advantages. For students prioritizing immediate industry access and regional convenience, RVCE’s established network and KCET affordability make it optimal, whereas NIT Agartala/Goa suit those focused on lower fees and government sector opportunities. Prioritize RVCE unless pursuing higher studies or preferring the NIT brand’s global recognition. My suggestion: Prefer RVCE. All the BEST for your Son's Admission & a Prosperous Future!

Hello Sir . I am passionate in Robotics and looking for Btech in Mechatronics. Got Vit chennai in cat3 for Mechatronics, which will cost around 28lakh for 4 years including hostel. Chances are very less to get seat in Amrita, SRM and Manipal. Already secured admission in MPSTME, NMIMS, Mumbai which will cost 18lakh for 4 years. Awaiting for MHCET result. I am not eligible for JoSSA counseling. Can some please guide me what path I shall follow- 1. Is it worth spending this much money in VIT Chennai for Mechatronics? 2. Shall I continue with MPSTME Mumbai ( we are from Mumbai only)? 3. Shall I look for other college thru MHCET in Mumbai with lower fees and then pursue masters in Robotics for good college after Btech? 4. Any further option if you can suggest. Robotics is my passion so not looking for any other branch.
Ans: Given your passion for robotics and financial considerations, MPSTME Mumbai’s B.Tech Mechatronics is recommended over VIT Chennai due to its lower cost (?18 lakh) and comparable academic quality, with 70-80% placement rates in core robotics roles through recruiters like Amazon, Accenture, and KPIT Technologies. While VIT Chennai offers specialized labs and RoboVITics club access, its ?28 lakh fee is disproportionate to its 51% placement rate for Mechatronics, primarily in automotive/IT sectors. MHCET options like Thakur College (cutoff ~86.97 percentile) or Terna Engineering (?5.72 lakh total fees) provide budget-friendly alternatives with ~70% placement rates, allowing savings for a master’s at premier institutes like IIT/IISc. However, if immediate industry exposure is critical, prioritize MPSTME’s Mumbai-based corporate network and project-driven curriculum, while keeping MHCET colleges like D.Y. Patil Navi Mumbai as backups for fee optimization without compromising robotics focus. All the BEST for your Admission & a Prosperous Future!
