Dear Sir
My son has got 98.67 percentile in jee mains ,he is getting lower branches in top Nits and electrical in medium Nits and cse & IT in IIIT Gwalior and Cse in all other IIITs lower than Gwalior.
Please suggest a good option we Reside in Bareilly (U.P).
Thanks
Ans: With a 98.67 percentile (JEE Main AIR ~14,000–15,000), your son can secure CSE/IT at IIIT Gwalior (2024 cutoff: 11,529–16,478 for CSE) and lower-ranked IIITs like Lucknow (CSE cutoff: 8,941–12,732) or Pune (CSE cutoff: 16,245–24,690), which offer stronger tech placement opportunities compared to Electrical at mid-tier NITs (e.g., NIT Durgapur’s Electrical Engineering: AIR 19,559–23,223) or Civil/Mechanical in top NITs (e.g., NIT Trichy Mechanical: AIR 8,405–9,305). Prioritize CSE at IIIT Gwalior due to its robust industry ties (avg. package: ?18–22 LPA) and proximity to Bareilly (6-hour drive). Alternatively, NIT Allahabad/Calicut’s Electrical Engineering (2024 cutoff: ~25,000–30,000 AIR) provides broader core engineering prospects but lower tech-sector alignment. For location convenience, IIIT Lucknow (CSE: 8,941 AIR) is within Uttar Pradesh, though newer, with growing placements. Weigh branch passion, institute reputation, and placement data—CSE in mid-IIITs often outperforms non-CSE in top NITs for tech careers. All the BEST for your son's Admission & Prosperous Future!
