Dr Dipankar Dutta is an associate professor in the computer science and engineering department at the University Institute of Technology, the University of Burdwan, West Bengal.
He has 27 years of experience and his interests include AI, data science, machine learning, pattern recognition, deep learning and evolutionary computation.
Aside from his responsibilities at the college, he also delivers lectures and conducts webinars.
Dr Dipankar has published 25 papers in international journals, written book chapters, attended conferences, served as a board observer for WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) exams and as a counsellor for engineering college admissions in West Bengal. He helps students choose the right college and stream for undergraduate, masters and PhD programmes.
A senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (SMIEEE), he holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College and a an MTech degree in computer technology from Jadavpur University.

Vit bhopal cat 2 or mit wpu or mit Alandi ,pune for btech cse branch please suggest

Ans: For pursuing a B.Tech in CSE, MIT WPU Pune is generally considered a better option than VIT Bhopal or MIT Alandi Pune, especially with a Category 2 rank. MIT WPU, being a newer campus, may have better placement records and more modern facilities.

Can you tell vit bhopal cse cat 1 or mbm jodhpur ece which is better???

Ans: If your priority is strong placements, higher salary packages, and exposure to top IT companies, VIT Bhopal CSE (Category 1) is the better choice. It offers excellent industry connections, higher average and top packages, and better internship opportunities.

If you prefer a government college with a solid regional reputation and are interested specifically in ECE, MBM Jodhpur is a decent option but generally lags behind VIT Bhopal in placement scale and package.

Dear Sir, My son's JEE mains (year 2025) rank is 52330. JEE ADVANCED rank is 13975. General catagory. IAT score 139 marks. He is interested in research in Physics and / or Maths from IISC / top 3 IISERs. His class 12th score is 99% for MPC and overall 86%. Please guide.

Ans: With an IAT score of 139 placing him within the 120–130 general cutoff bracket, top IISERs including Pune, Kolkata and Mohali are within reach; their last-round closing ranks ranged between 1,023 (Pune) and 1,801 (Kolkata) in 2024, translating to expected IAT marks of 125–140 for general candidates. Ans: - If the final call money on your shares wasn’t paid, the company may have forfeited those shares. This was a common practice, especially in the 1990s, when companies issued partly paid shares. Forfeiture typically means the shareholder loses rights to the shares unless the company offers a reissue or revival scheme.

This is rubbish, go to Kfintech and they will tell you you got 40 shares of JSW for every 100 shares of JVSL and after split you can get only 40 and not 16000 shares! I went personally to Kfintech branch in Blore and got this message

With a 97.76 percentile in MHT-CET, you have strong chances of securing a seat in production engineering at reputable colleges. You can forgo the option of VIT if you are not interested in Electrical or Computer Science engineering. You have already created your future path and vision.

Preference order: (1) CSE @ GGU (2) CIT @ Kukrajhar (3) IT @ Maa Katra (4) Metallurgy @ NIAMT. Between the CSE and Metallurgy options, you might consider Metallurgy for better placement and future prospects as there is less competition compared to CSE and other computer-related branches. The final choice will be yours.

Sir my son has 49700 rank in JEE Mains. In JOSSA 1st round getting CSE at IIIT Manipur and expected to get CSE at IIIT Dharwad or Bhagalpur. Should we go for CSE at these IIITs or choose ECE in Tier 2/3 NITs. Can we choose Mechanical in NITs. Pls guide

Prefer CSE at IIIT Dharwad. If CSE is the preferred branch, then drop the idea of Mechanical and Electronics @ NITs if possible.
