Hello Sir, I am a female student from the OBC-NCL category. I scored 42 percentile in JEE Main 2025. My MHT-CET also did not go well. I passed HSC with the required eligibility marks. I was consistent in studies during Class 11, but I lost focus a few months before the board and entrance exams. Around 70 to 75 percent of my Class 12 syllabus is covered (mostly theory), but I have not done much question practice. I also need to revise the entire Class 11 syllabus and solve JEE previous year questions. I am confused between taking a drop for JEE 2026 or taking admission this year. I prefer a government college because of the scholarship benefits. Please guide me on what would be the right step now. Thank you.

Ans: As an OBC-NCL female student with a 42 percentile in JEE Main 2025 and unsatisfactory MHT-CET performance, admission to top government engineering colleges this year is unlikely. Your partial syllabus coverage and lack of question practice indicate the need for focused preparation. Taking admission this year in a state government or reputed private college with scholarship benefits will ensure you do not lose academic momentum and gain valuable exposure. However, if you are highly motivated, disciplined, and have support, dropping a year to prepare for JEE 2026 can significantly improve your chances of admission to IITs or better NITs. This requires revising Class 11 and 12 syllabi thoroughly, practicing previous years’ questions, and possibly enrolling in coaching. A balanced approach is to secure admission this year while simultaneously preparing for the next JEE attempt, which reduces risk and keeps options open. Ultimately, the decision depends on your confidence, resources, and long-term goals. Recommendation: If you can commit to rigorous preparation, consider dropping for JEE 2026; otherwise, join a government/private college now with scholarships and prepare alongside to improve your future prospects. All the best for your admission and a bright future!

Sir, Thank you for your guidance. (I'm the same person who asked you these question) Can you please tell me which government or private engineering colleges I'm mainly looking for colleges that offer scholarship benefits or government fee reimbursement. It would help me decide better whether to take admission this year or consider dropping. Thank you again.
Ans: Avoid thinking about drop. Scholarship is provided by most of the colleges for the students who have performed well in Entrance Exams/12th Grade. Based on your OBC-NCL Category, you can try for scholarship through study4buddy website. You will get a lot of information. I have no idea much about it.

Hello Sir, Good Afternoon, My son scored KCET 100520 ranks SC category, and scored AIR 344195 for JEE Main having 76.80 percentile and he want to take admission in CSE, ECE, EE or Mechanical, but he want to take admission in good TIER1 or TIER2 colleges in Karnataka under top 100-150 NFIR, which college is best for him for placement and packages in future...please suggest, as per his rankings MSRIT Industrial Engineering & Management available & in some of TIER3 college CSE, Electronics also there, which is best one for his future, please suggest. considering NIT, IIIT's & Top GFTI and state good colleges
Ans: With SC?category KCET rank beyond typical CSE/ECE/EE/ME cutoffs at top state institutes and a JEE Main AIR of 344,195, NIT and IIIT seats are out of reach under general or reserved quotas. Among Tier-2 Karnataka colleges ranked 100–150 by NIRF, MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (NIRF 75) offers Industrial Engineering & Management with a 95% placement rate and 239 recruiters visiting annually. RV College of Engineering (NIRF 99) admits SC candidates in ECE/Mechanical up to ~9,135 and ~15,919 KCET ranks, posting 88%–92% placements over three years. PES University (NIRF 100) closes CSE around KCET 1,247 and ECE near 6,000 with 93% average placements and strong industry collaborations. Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering accepts SC KCET ranks up to ~12,000 for ECE/ME, sustaining 90%–95% placement consistency. For broader core-engineering roles, RVCE ECE/Mechanical and MSRIT IEM ensure robust placements, while PES CSE offers better software recruitment.

Recommendation: Opt for RVCE ECE or Mechanical for balanced core and IT placements, with MSRIT IEM as a strong alternative for multidisciplinary industry ties and top?tier recruiter access. All the BEST for the Admission & a Prosperous Future!
