My sons score in jee mains is 98.87percentile.. he will get Nit suratkal mechanical thru csab..please guide on which is better between Nit surat, nit Nagpur, nit allahbad and bit pilani fir mechanical branch..

Ans: Roopali Madam, With a JEE Main percentile of 98.87 and an estimated rank around 20,000–25,000, your son’s best chances for Mechanical Engineering admission lie with NIT Nagpur and NIT Allahabad, where cutoffs are comfortably above his rank. Admission to NIT Suratkal Mechanical is more competitive but possible with category or home state advantages. BIT Pilani is a strong alternative offering excellent academics and placements, with slightly more flexible admission criteria. Among these, NIT Suratkal has the highest brand value and infrastructure, followed by BIT Pilani for its premium status. Recommendation: Prioritize NIT Nagpur or NIT Allahabad for assured admission, consider BIT Pilani for a premium private option, and keep NIT Suratkal as a reach option depending on counseling results and category benefits. All the best for your son's admission and a bright future!

His mains rank is 17368...so if we get in nit suratkal in csab should we consider it or go with bits Pilani
Ans: Prefer NIT-S-CSAB. It is important to be aware that BITS requires a minimum of 255, 260, and 270 marks for admission to the Mechanical Branch at the Hyderabad, Goa, and Pilani Campuses, respectively. The annual fees will amount to approximately 8.00 lacs. Prefer BITS only if your son scores above 270 & the fees is affordable by you. Again, I suggest to go for NIT-S-Mechanical through CSAB. However, have back-ups instead of relying only on CSAB.
